- What exactly do you charge, and what costs extra? Get every fee in writing, including anything beyond the monthly percentage. Leasing, renewals, inspections and maintenance are billed differently at different companies.
- How do you screen tenants? Good managers apply the same criteria to every applicant and document their decisions.
- How fast do you respond to maintenance requests? Ask who chooses the contractor, how repairs are approved, and what the spending limits are.
- When do I get paid, and what reports will I see? Look for a clear schedule and monthly income and expense records.
- What does it take to end our agreement? Read the termination terms before you commit.
